Moscow expects breakthrough on Garabagh
Azerbaijan and Armenia are on the path to a major breakthrough in
settling the Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict, says Andrei
Nesterenko, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman.
"If the positive dynamic in the negotiating process achieved this year is maintained next year, there are grounds to count on quite a speedy and final agreement on the basic principles of the conflict settlement and on drafting the text of a peace accord on their basis," Nesterenko said.
Earlier, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said the Garabagh problem could be resolved in several months.
