Top US general holds talks in Baku
The Commander of the United States Air Forces in
Europe, General Roger Brady visited Azerbaijan on Tuesday to
discuss strategic partnership between the two countries.
Brady’s discussions with Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Safar Abiyev centered on issues of military cooperation, the Defense Ministry told AssA-Irada.
The two also exchanged views on the situation in the South Caucasus region and the Armenia-Azerbaijan Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict. Abiyev informed the US official that the OSCE Minsk Group-brokered peace talks that have been underway with Yerevan for over a decade are fruitless. He added that the current situation prompts Azerbaijan to seek "other options" to liberate its territories occupied by the hostile neighbor.
