Baku, Ankara to sign deal on visas in Dec.
Azerbaijan and Turkey are expected to sign an
agreement on simplifying visa regulations in December, Turkish
Ambassador in Baku, Hulusi Kilic, has said.
According to him, since 2007, Azerbaijani nationals have been entitled to visa-free stay in Turkey for a period of up to 30 days, but the new agreement will make this period 90 days for the citizens of both countries.
The ambassador said the visa regime is to be cancelled altogether in the future.
"This is normal. God willing, we will travel back and forth with identification documents in the future. We plan on doing this in the coming years. Such things should be eliminated between brothers," Kilic said.
Earlier, Turkey’s Sabah newspaper quoted Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying that a preliminary agreement has been reached with Baku on bilaterally lifting visa regulations.
