Armenian communists admit Garabagh Azeri land – party leader
Armenian communists have openly admitted that the
Armenia-occupied Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh region is part of
Azerbaijan, says the chairman of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan
(CPA).
Rauf Gurbanov’s statement comes after his meeting with Armenian left-wing politicians held on the sidelines of a congress of communists’ blocs from the former Soviet republics.
According to him, the Azerbaijani and Armenian communists have no differences of opinion on the long-standing Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict.
"They openly admit that the occupied land belongs to Azerbaijan. They always say that," the party leader said.
Gurbanov emphasized that the communist parties of other states recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity as well. The fact that the Communist Party operating in Upper Garabagh has not been admitted to the union of communist parties is proof of that, he added.*
