Armenia worried by Turkey’s Garabagh settlement efforts
Armenia is not discussing settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan
Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict with Turkey, the spokesman for
the country’s foreign ministry has told Armenia Today news
agency.
Tigran Balayan’s remarks come in response to a statement by his counterpart, Burak Ozugergin, that Ankara will, from now onward, be actively involved in the work of the OSCE Minsk Group brokering Garabagh settlement.
"Making statements is a right of the Turkish side. But Yerevan has not, is not and won’t discuss the Garabagh issue with Ankara," Balayan claimed.
The Minsk Group co-chairs’ latest meeting, held in Vienna on October 23, was attended by the Turkish Foreign Ministry official Unal Cevikoz. Cevikoz held bilateral meetings with the mediators and held discussions on the Garabagh problem.*
