Azerbaijan Fourth Stella Artois Local Draught Master
Nowadays more than 43 countries -- from USA to
Australia, from Spain to Azerbaijan -- annually compete in the
Stella Artois Global Draught Master contest, with the 13th such
competition taking place this year.
AB InBev, the brandowner of Stella Artois, is after the acquisition of Anheuser Buch, the world`s unrivalled brewer. After its local competition each country has the opportunity to send their winner to the U.S. to participate at the Global Stella Artois Master`s. The winner of the Global Draught Master is entitled to New York travel to promote perfect draught-pouring in selected outlets.
Through the exclusive AB InBev importer ILCHIN LTD in Azerbaijan, all barmen stood a chance at participating in the competition. It featured such restaurants as 5 Mertebe, The Garage, Pencara, Kaiser Pub, Le Cafe, Black City, Miracle City, Hong-Kong, Beryozka, and Chio Chio.
Prior to the local contest on September 28, a comprehensive draught training was organized at the 5 Mertebe Pub. The trainer was the Stella Artois brew master Firmin Verleyen from Belgium. The training included a full presentation about the perfect draught rituals as well as on-the-spot beer pouring training.
Each participant was entitled to building up experience before the main competition, which included a semi-final and a final session. During the semi-finals candidates were screened on their skills to perform a smoothless serial pouring act of two Stella Artois glasses. All bartenders coped with the task.
The winner of the Azerbaijan contest was Joshghun Salamzadeh from Pencara. Elchin Khalilov from Miracle City and Ulvi Aizadeh from Kaiser Pub were the first and second runners-up.
All contestants received the Perfect Draught Certificate and special gifts from ILCHIN LTD. The winner will go to New York on October 29 to represent Azerbaijan in the Stella Artois World Draught Master Competition.
ILCHIN LTD hopes for more active participation of barmens in further Local Draught Master Contests in Azerbaijan.
