Military attaches` meeting not detailed
The military attaches of Azerbaijan`s armed forces
accredited abroad have gathered in Baku for a three-day meeting
that started on Monday, according to the Defense Ministry. The
discussions are not detailed.
Military analyst Uzeyir Jafarov says that holding such functions on a regular basis is of tremendous importance, as the government may issue instructions to the diplomats representing Azerbaijan in other countries and international organizations.
``But, since meetings of this kind take place very rarely, they raise certain interest in citizens,`` Jafarov said. ``On the other hand, this event overlapping in time with the Russian defense minister`s visit to Baku and NATO exercises being held in Azerbaijan has triggered some concerns.``
