Azerbaijani FM receives delegation headed by ILO director general [PHOTO]

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with the delegation headed by Guy Ryder, director-general of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a message.
According to the message, expressing his gratification with the visit to Azerbaijan, Ryder noted his meeting with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and said that very fruitful discussions were held at the meeting.
At the meeting the sides underlined the importance of the international conference entitled "Promotion of sustainable development and decent work towards Sustainable Development Goals", adding that very fruitful discussions were held during the conference.
The sides also touched upon the importance of the development of
cooperation between Azerbaijan and International Labour
Organization and emphasized their confidence in the successful
continuation of these relations.
Commending Azerbaijan's social achievements especially over the
last decade, Ryder stressed the importance of exchanging this
successful practice with other countries.
In his turn, Mammadyarov underlined that under the leadership of
President Aliyev in recent years important work has been done to
ensure the sustainable development of Azerbaijan's economy,
including the implementation of the sustainable development goals,
labour and social welfare of population, adding that significant
changes have been achieved in rapid reduction of unemployment in a
short term.
Speaking about Azerbaijan’s social-economical development,
Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan achieved all this while dealing
with Armenian military aggression, occupation of 20 percent of its
territory by Armenia, and also more than one million refugees and
IDPs.
Furthermore, the sides discussed the issues of mutual interest.
