Serbian companies may come to Azerbaijan as the Serbian economy grows stronger, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at an expanded meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, held with participation of delegations in Baku on May 21.

“First of all, I congratulate you on the landslide victory in the presidential election and wish prosperity to the Azerbaijani people,” Vucic told Ilham Aliyev. “I would also like to congratulate you on the centenary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. I assure you that Serbia is a friendly country for Azerbaijan. In Azerbaijan, in the city of Baku, we feel at home with the closest friends. Mr. President, I attach special importance to your activities. You are making great efforts to protect the sovereignty and independence of your country. That’s because in the current tense conditions, you are leading the country on the path of prosperity. At the same time, you have established good relations with all the countries supporting your policy.”

“As Serbia, we attach great importance to this policy and respect it,” Vucic said. “I believe we have enough work we must do together. From the standpoint of Azerbaijan’s interests, there is much work that needs to be implemented in Serbia. At the same time, we have a lot of work that we can do here. I would like to inform you that this year our economic growth reached 4.5 percent. According to the information I have, you had a 3 percent growth in the non-oil sector. I sincerely congratulate you on this occasion as well.”
