Another mass burial found in Azerbaijan
A mass burial linked to the massacres committed by
Armenians in the early 20th century has been discovered in central
Azerbaijan.
The human remains were found in an area located close to a courtyard in the Garasu village of the Kurdamir district by the owner of the nearby property, Aghamammad Nurmammadov, ATV channel reported.
Nurmammadov suddenly bumped into tens of human skeletons while digging soil in the yard and then reported the discovery to the local police. An ensuing scrutiny concluded that the bones date back to the period before present-day.
Historians called to the site established that the remains belong to those killed in massacres by Armenians in 1918. They concluded that, the mass killings, launched by Armenian military men at the time, had spanned to the regions reaching Kurdamir.
A close look at the remains revealed that the victims were killed with utmost brutality. Those people`s jaws were open, and traces of blows inflicted with dull objects and bullet shots were found on their cranial bones.
Historians believe that more detailed research in the area will allow to expose and prove to the rest of the world another fact of Armenian atrocities. Archaeologists have been brought in for the purpose.
Previously, in April 2007, another mass burial was discovered during repair work at a stadium in the northern Guba district. Azerbaijani researchers confirmed that the burial was part of the genocide committed against Azerbaijanis and the Jewish community in 1918.
During the tragic developments, Armenians killed 16,000 people in the Guba district alone. Over 50,000 Azerbaijanis were slain throughout the republic and 10,000 people were ousted from their homes.
