Top official: Ilham Aliyev should be architect of Azerbaijan's stable, secure, prosperous future [UPDATE]

President Ilham Aliyev should be the architect of next seven years of Azerbaijan's stable, secure and prosperous future, Novruz Mammadov, assistant of the president for foreign policy issues, head of department, tweeted on February 8.

“A spectacular congress. Sincere, heartfelt speeches full of confidence in future and hope. The speeches by representatives of different regions and organizations of the country had one keynote – President Ilham Aliyev should be the architect of the next seven years of Azerbaijan’s stable, secure and prosperous future.”

“Inevitably, I remembered the words of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who said: ‘Calling on you, my compatriots, I urge for support to presidential candidate, my political successor, the first deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, Ilham Aliyev, in the upcoming presidential elections... I believe in him as I do in myself, and I pin great hopes on his future’. It seemed at the congress that everyone has recalled these wise words. I think the Azerbaijani people, undoubtedly, believe in President Ilham Aliyev.”

The VI Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on Feb.8. The VI has made a decision to nominate candidacy of the Chairman of the Party, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in the presidential election scheduled for April 11, 2018. The decision was adopted unanimously.
