Azerbaijan is preparing for its third edition of the Formula 1, the highest class of single-seat auto racing, providing the thrilling adrenaline rush in Baku streets on April 27-29.

Year by year interest in racing is growing and more and more tourists are dreaming to feel the power of sports cars in extremely narrow and challenging sections of the Baku track, revealing all the beauty of the Old City wall.

Nigar Arpadarai, Head of Marketing and Communications Department at Baku City Circuit said that the sale of tickets for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, continues successfully, and it is safe to say that interest in the upcoming races has increased even more.

She noted that ticket sales are increasing, and, as before, tickets are mostly purchased from Russia and European countries. The sale of tickets started on November 6, 2017.

“Interest in races has further increased after the successful holding of them last year. We are satisfied with the current results,” said Arpadarai.

She also stressed that the preparatory work is carried out on schedule.

“The construction of concrete blocks in the city has already begun, and construction work continues without creating any obstacles for people. We make every effort to ensure that people are satisfied with the races,” the head of department added.

Arpadarai further said that this year, the event will again include a concert program with three world stars.

“Negotiations with the stars continue. After the negotiations are over, their names will be made public,” she said.

The Formula 1 races, held in Baku last two years, were highly appreciated by worldwide Formula 1 fans. The Formula 1 race in 2017 was rated as the race with the most exciting and most unexpected moments of the season in the world by race fans and media representatives in surveys conducted around the world's leading media.
