German MPs adopt resolution on S Caucasus
The German parliament has adopted its first-ever
resolution on the South Caucasus, saying it recognizes the
territorial integrity of all three regional countries - Azerbaijan,
Armenia and Georgia.
The document, called "Security, stability and strengthening of democracy in the South Caucasus", expresses the Bundestag`s support for the settlement of regional conflicts only on the basis of that principle. The resolution indicated that the principle of inviolability of borders should be viewed as the key in resolving all conflicts.
The Bundestag urged the German government to do everything in its power to enforce the implementation of UN resolutions and Council of Europe and OSCE decisions pertaining to the Armenia-Azerbaijan Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh conflict.
