Heydar Aliyev`s daughter not considering political career
The daughter of former Azerbaijani President Heydar
Aliyev, Sevil Aliyeva, has dismissed media reports on the
possibility of her involvement in politics.
"I am not thinking of a political career," she told Interfax-Azerbaijan.
Aliyeva also brushed off speculation that she might lead a political party. "I have a family and business in London. I have no plans to change this, especially for politics. I revere my parents and am very proud that my brother [President Ilham Aliyev] is continuing the policies of our father in the interests of prosperity of the Azerbaijani people," she said.
Several media outlets, in particular those in the opposition, have suggested that Aliyeva has been considering a political career.
In the first years of her father`s presidency, Aliyeva was the head of the Sevil Women`s Association. She is also the founder of Space independent TV and radio company.
