Laos seeks overall development of cooperation with Azerbaijan

Laos is interested in overall development of cooperation with Azerbaijan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Democratic Republic of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith said as he met Parliamentary Speaker Ogtay Asadov on June 19.
Kommasith, who is on an official visit to Baku, highlighted his meetings held in the capital. The FM expressed hope that relations between the two countries in the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural fields will further develop.
Asadov, in turn, said that the visit of the FM will positively influence development of relations between the two countries. He noted that reciprocal visits will play an important role in deepening relations.
The speaker stressed the importance of signing the document between the two countries in terms of strengthening ties.
“We are interested in developing the inter-parliamentary bonds,” he added.
President Ilham Aliyev also received the Foreign Minister of Laos. The Head of State stressed that the visit of the FM to Azerbaijan serves as a good indicator of mutual interest in further strengthening the ties between the two countries.
The visit is aimed at mulling issues of mutual interest and issues related to determining the prospects for cooperation.
