Russia appoints new envoy
Vladimir Dorokhin has been appointed Russia`s new
Ambassador to Azerbaijan, the Russian foreign ministry said.
The 61-year-old diplomat, who recently worked as the foreign ministry`s ambassador-at-large, will succeed Vasili Istratov, who held the post since 2006.
Dorokhin acted as the charge d`affaires in the embassy of the former USSR and Russia in Hungary from 1991-1997. He was the head of the ministry`s department for cultural relations and worked with UNESCO.
