FM to visit Ukraine
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will
pay a short visit to Ukraine on Thursday, the foreign ministry
said.
During the visit Mammadyarov will attend the opening of the building of the GUAM Secretariat and participate in the meeting of the GUAM countries` foreign ministers. Issues on development of cooperation between the member countries will be discussed at the meeting.
GUAM was established by former Soviet republics Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova - at a summit of European Union leaders in Strasbourg in 1997. In 1999, Uzbekistan entered the group, but seceded from it four years later.
