Thanks to the economic reforms carried out by President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s economy has become one of the fastest growing in the world, said Ali Ahmadov, deputy prime minister, deputy chairman-executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).

Ahmadov was speaking Dec. 24 at the conference titled “Address of Future: President Ilham Aliyev’s Strategy of Reforms”, organized by the NAP.

“Azerbaijan has been able to prove its power to the world,” said Ahmadov.

He also noted that the prevention of economic regression in Azerbaijan in the last decade of the 20th century and ensuring the further development of the country was the result of a successful economic strategy of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Ahmadov said that Azerbaijan is on the threshold of new development.

The reforms carried out under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will give impetus to the country’s new development, he said.

A new concept of Azerbaijan’s reforms was prepared, and its implementation will make it possible for the country, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, to enter a new stage of economic development, said Ahmadov.
