The foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Moldova will hold consultations in the near future.

Moldova’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gheorghe Leuca announced about this while talking to Trend on November 14.

“Moldova’s Deputy Foreign Minister Lilian Darii is expected to visit Baku to participate in the foreign ministerial consultations,” Leuca added.

“During the consultations, the officials of Azerbaijan and Moldova will discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in regional and international organizations to which the two countries are members,” the ambassador said.

Leuca further emphasized that the dates of the visit and consultations are being agreed.

“From the Azerbaijani side, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov will take part in the consultations,” Leuca said.

Earlier, at a meeting with Newly Appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Moldova Qudsi Osmanov, Lilian Darii expressed interest in intensifying the bilateral political dialogue and expanding the economic and trade relations between Moldova and Azerbaijan.

The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992. Moldova appointed its ambassador in Azerbaijan in 2004 and Moldavian embassy was opened in Azerbaijan in 2015.

Currently, Azerbaijan and Moldova are strategic partners, and the two countries are cooperating at the bilateral and international levels.
