Aliyev to join EU summit in Prague
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will attend the
European Union summit in Prague on May 7, Foreign Minister Elmar
Mammadyarov told journalists. The meeting is expected to discuss
issues regarding European energy security and the Eastern
Partnership program.
On December 4, the European Commission passed a decision to support the Eastern Partnership initiative put forward by Poland and Sweden that foresees close cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus.
