Medical service brigades ready for F-1 race
Baku City Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Station have made all the brigades of doctors fully ready for the upcoming Formula 1 race.
Some 27 brigades of doctors will be available during the race, chief physician of Baku City Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Station Rauf Nagiyev told Azertac.
Some12 brigades are intended for athletes, 6 for spectators and guests. 9 brigades of doctors will operate on an ambulatory basis. Doctors will offer medical service at 9 medical stations in places where the race will be held.
“Moreover, a common station has been created for athletes in the area. Highly qualified surgeons, traumatic surgeons, and neurologists will operate there,” the chief physician added.
Formula 1 race fans will gather in Azerbaijan on June 17-19, as its capital will host the eighth stage of the 67th season of Grand Prix of Europe for the first time.
With a length measuring at slightly over six kilometers, the 20-corner track will be lapped 51 times, with cars reaching potential speeds of up to 340km per hour, marking the circuit out as the fastest street circuit on the existing F1 calendar.
The circuit offers a number of challenges for drivers, including an extremely narrow uphill section along the old town walls that will require pinpoint accuracy, and it has an acceleration section of almost 2.2 kilometres along the seaside promenade, which will see the cars running flat out at very high speed - something that will create an incredible show for race fans.
