“Colors of Azerbaijan” presented at MGIMO

A charity art exhibition and sale entitled "Colors of Azerbaijan" has opened at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

Azerbaijani diplomats, members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Moscow and Azerbaijani students were among the attendees at the official opening ceremony.

The exhibition featured 93 paintings and 20 photos reflecting the history of Azerbaijan by young Russian and Azerbaijani artists from 19 cities. It also showcases works by talented young photographer Kerim Abbasov.

The funds to be raised from the sale of the artworks will go directly to the “Live” charity fund to help children with cancer. The exhibition is part of the "Week of Azerbaijan" at MGIMO.

The Moscow State Institute of International is a university that belongs to the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Since its foundation MGIMO was designed to become a unique educational, research and scientific centre; many outstanding scientists worked at its faculties, several world renowned scientific schools were founded here.

It is the oldest and the most renowned school in Russia for preparing students for careers in international relations and diplomacy. Several of the current professors of MGIMO were ambassadors or ministers.

Since the 1990s, MGIMO has expanded its academic programme, now offering degrees ranging from journalism to economics and management. Today MGIMO accepts more than a thousand students every year from most Russian regions and more than 50 foreign countries.
