The music of Azerbaijan's legendary composers will be performed during a musical project of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).

"Works by Famous Composers of Classical Music of the Turkic World" is underway in Turkey.

Turkish cities such as Trabzon, Ordu, Samsun, Ankara, Eskishehir, and Bursa are hosting the concert of Karaganda State Symphonic Orchestra entitled "Masterpieces of Classical Music of the Turkic World", which is being held with the participation of the soloists of TURKSOY member countries on January 20-27.

The orchestra will perform music by Azerbaijan's legendary composers Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Kazakhstan's composers Erkegali Rakhmadiyev, Adil Bestibayev, and Tles Kajgaliyev, Uzbekistan's Mirsadyk Tajiyev, Turkey's Turgay Erdener and Ulvi Erkin, Kyrgyzstan's Muratbek Begaliyev, Turkmenistan's Rovshan Nepesov, Bashkortostan's Niyaz Dautov, and Tatarstan's Farid Yarullin.

The project has been held in Almaty, Karaganda, Bishkek, and St. Petersburg with the participation of symphonic orchestras from different countries since 2013.

TURKSOY, an international cultural organization of countries with Turkic populations whose speaking languages belong to the Turkic language family, has roots going back to the 1992 meetings in Baku and Istanbul, where the ministers of culture from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan declared their commitment to cooperate in a joint cultural framework. TURKSOY was subsequently established by an agreement signed on July 12, 1993, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Meetings of TURKSOY artists have been held since 1997, and works created by the artists are stored in the TURKSOY art collection.
