Milan hosts exhibition of young Azerbaijani artists

The Chiesa Rossa Library in Milan, Italy opened an exhibition of young Azerbaijani artists on November 23.

The exhibition was co-organized by the Azerbaijani embassy in Italy, the Municipality of Milan, the Culture Association of Azerbaijan in Milan, and "Dirchalish" Social and Psychological Rehabilitation Center of Youth.

According to the Rehabilitation Center director Islam Bakhshaliyev, the exhibition was also organized with the support of the Azerbaijani Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture and Tourism and "Azal-Azerbaijan" CJSC.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy Zaur Farhadov informed the event participants about Azerbaijani culture.

The works displayed at the exhibition include 50 paintings by 12 Azerbaijani artists, covering various aspects of painting and graphics. However, common subjects like innovation, love of the motherland, and a new look on life combine all these works.

Then, the actors of the Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre named after Abdulla Shaig performed "Tig-tig khanim", a poetic fairy tale, for the Italian children.

A Milan municipality advisor welcomed young artists and actors and expressed gratitude on behalf of his organization for organizing the event.

At the end of the ceremony, the artists were awarded with the certificates and plaques prepared by the Azerbaijani embassy in Italy and "Dirchalish" Social and Psychological Rehabilitation Center.

The first-ever exhibition of the Azerbaijani artists will last until November 29. As part of their trip to Milan, the Azerbaijani artists will visit the city`s sights and historical places and draw sketches. Furthermore, the artists will visit the cities of Venice and Geneva.
