Azerbaijan appoints representative for Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Rustam Karimov will represent the Land of Fire at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013, Azerbaijani Public Broadcaster reported in its website.
Ten-year- old Rustam Karimov will perform the "Me And My Guitar" composition at the concert.
Karimov was born in Baku in 2003. He started singing at the age of two and playing the piano at the age of eight, though drums and guitar were his true passions.
Karimov is currently studying at the music school named after
Rashid Behbudov.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be held on November 30 in
Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, under the motto of "Be Creative!"
Palace Ukraine was announced as the venue for the contest on April 10, 2013.
It will be the second time in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest that the event is held in the country that won the previous year, and the first time that it is held twice in the same city.
So far, 11 countries have confirmed their participation.
Executive supervisor of the Contest's steering group Vladislav Yakovlev announced on July 17, 2013 that there would be some changes introduced to the contest from 2013 onwards. The contest would no longer focus on just the winning party, but will also reward the top three entries in acknowledgement of the talents of the young performers.
Azerbaijan participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2012 and took the 11th place. 10-year-old Omar Sultanov and 11-year-old Suada Alakbarova performed "Boys And Girls" composition, most of which was presented in the Azerbaijani language.
The song's author was Jessica Appla, the lyricist was Zahra Badalbayli, and the choreographer was famous Russian dancer Maksim Nedolechko.
