Moscow hosts int'l contest devoted to Azeri singer Magomayev
The second International Muslim Magomayev Vocalist Contest
dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani singer's
birth has been held in Moscow, Azerbaijani state news agency
AzerTac reported.
On the first day of the contest, People's Actress Tamara
Sinyavskaya noted that the contest dedicated to the anniversary of
Magomayev was the continuation of his life as "he had not gone
anywhere and would always be with us".
Representatives of the US, Russia, Germany, Mongolia, South Korea,
Ukraine and Belarus took part in the contest performing the songs
of Magomayev.
The winner of the contest was Jenisbek Piyazov. He was honoured
with the grand prix award.
The first premium was won by Russian Sergey Plyusin, second by
Belarus Anatoly livko, third by Russian Irina Kostina and German
Bladimir Boldt.
The contest brought together more than 200 singers.
At the end of the concert well known Azerbaijani singer and
composer Emin Agalarov performed his song "My way".
