Al Jarreau to attend Gabala int’l fest
BAKU - The world-known jazzman Al Jarreau will attend Gabala International festival, APA reports. Al Jarreau would perform his own jazz program during the festival.
"We have already scheduled the festival program. World-known jazzman Al Jarreau, who attended the Baku Jazz Festival earlier, will also join us. He will give a jazz concert within the Gabala festival on July 27," rector of the Baku Academy of Music Farhad Badelbeyli told APA.
The 2nd International Piano Festival will take place in Gabala, Northern Azerbaijan, from July 25 to August 5. A competition will be organized within the festival framework.
The London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra would perform the music of the renowned Azeri composers, including Uzeyir Hajibeyov, Muslim Magomayev, Fikret Amirov, Tofig Guliyev and Farhad Badelbeyli.
The festival will end on July 30. Azeri pianists Farhad Badelbeyli and Murad Adigozalzadeh will give a joint concert on July 25. Russian pianist Boris Berezovsky is also expected to perform in Gabala.
The festival is organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijan’s Union of Musicians.
