American mugam performer Jeffrey Werbock, who is also the President of the Mugham Society of America (MSA) has given concert in Baku's International Mugam Center.

Today, Werbock is known as a skilful player of Azerbaijani national musical instruments, and gives numerous concerts worldwide.

He fell in love with Azerbaijani music in 1971 and devoted his life to the promotion of Azerbaijani mugham. Wonderful musician once again charmed the audience with the magical sounds of mugham music.

One of the best known Americans in Azerbaijan appeared on stage in Azerbaijan's national costume, Azertac reported.

In his speech, J.Werbock stressed that mugham is very difficult, sophisticated, elegant music genre. The musician aims to promote mugham in the United States and other countries through the Mugham Society of America (MSA).

Jeffrey Werbock performed "Segah" mugam in the kamancha and different pieces from other mughams in tar.

Further, Sahib Pashazade (tar) and Togrul Asadullayev (kamancha) and khanende Ravan Ismayilov impressed listeners with their performance of mugham "Karabakh Shikastasi".

Notably, American mugham performed marked his 65th anniversary with a concert in Baku in 2016.

The musician delighted his fans with performances on the tar, kamancha and oud.
