A documentary “Objective Baku – Hitler's War on Oil” has been screened at Gaumont Cinema in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The documentary was produced by Arzu Aliyeva in partnership with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Argentina, government officials, MPs, teachers and students of higher education institutions, media representatives and members of the general public attended the event, Azertac reported.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Argentine Rashad Aslanov, in his speech, highlighted Azerbaijan's tremendous contributions to the Victory over Nazism.

Ambassador Aslanov said that the plot of the documentary reveals the role of the Azerbaijani people in defeating Nazism and the strategic importance of the Azerbaijani oil during the war.

The film provides a totally new approach to the history of World War II, i.e. through the prism of oil.

With over 200 hours of video materials, photographs and other documents scrutinized, documentary took 14 months of substantial research in Azerbaijan, Germany, the US, the UK, France and Russia,

The video material features some unique video snapshots of the WW2 battles never shown to this day in a totally new format of restored color film.

So far, the film was broadcasted at the National Geographic channel in 26 countries.
