Columbian Film Festival due in Baku

Columbian Film Festival will be held in Baku on March 2-4.
The festival will screen several films including drama “Of Love and Other Demons”, romantic comedy “Sofia and the Stubborn”, “Embrace of the Serpent”, Trend Life reported.
The festival will be opened by drama "Of love and other demons", filmed on the book of world-famous Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The storyline is about girl who is posed by demon and young priest. The film is directed by Hilda Hidalgo.
The comedy “Sofia and the Stubborn” will be shown on March 3.
An old couple living in the Colombian countryside has been planing a trip to sea for years in order to break the monotony of their life. He just wants to live the routine, she wants to see the world and is not able to keep waiting.
“Embrace of the Serpent” will be shown on the last day of the festival. Directed by Ciro Guerra, the film was nominated for Foreign Language Film for Oscars 2016.
The film tells two stories thirty years apart, both featuring Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his tribe. He travels with two scientists, firstly with German Theo von Martius in 1909 and American named Evan in 1940, to look for the rare yakruna, a (fictional) sacred plant.
Movies will be demonstrated in Spanish with English subtitles. Entrance is free.
The screening starts at 19:00.
