Water supply and sewerage tariffs to be reconsidered in Azerbaijan

The water supply and sewerage tariffs will be reconsidered upon a decision of the Azerbaijani Tariff Council from May 16, 2016. The decision was made at a meeting of the Tariff Council May 13.

According to the new tariffs, a cubic meter of water for the population in the cities of Baku, Sumgait, Khirdalan and Absheron district including VAT will cost 0.35 manat (previous tariff - 0.30 manat). The tariff for the population of other administrative-territorial units will hit 0.30 manat per one cubic meter of water (current tariff - 0.25 manat).

As of May 13, the official exchange rate is 1.5093 AZN/USD.

The tariffs have not been changed for other consumer groups. Currently, a cubic meter of water for these groups costs one manat in all regions of the country.

The tariffs will be reduced from 12 manat to eight manat per cubic meter of water (including sewerage) for consumers, using water as raw materials.

The sewerage tariff will hit 0.15 manat per cubic meter (previous tariff - 0.06 manat) for the population, while one manat for other consumers (current tariff - 0.30 manat).

The Tariff Council also reconsidered the tariffs for the services of laboratory expertise of medications produced in the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as those imported into the country, as well as tariffs for the services of state expertise of medications.

The Tariff Council's decision No19 dated July 26, 2007 was abolished at the meeting.

According to the decision, the tariff for wholesale sale of water from Jeyranbatan reservoir was set. The tariff hits 20 manat per 1,000 cubic meters of water.
