The Azerbaijani-Georgian enterprise of electronic products, AG Telekom has announced about launch of production of televisions.

Company’s Director Mikheil Ghlonti told Georgian Online that Georgian televisions will cost cheaper than imported brands, varying between $180-$280.

“32-inch (81 cm) TV will cost $180 and 40-inch (101 cm) will be on sale for $280. Price, taking into account the planned quality, is fairly low,” Ghlonti said.

The product should appear in the market this April, and later it will be brought to the European market, the director emphasized.

AG Telekom, established in Georgian southeast city Rustavi in 2013, is producing set top box, required for the transition to digital broadcasting, as well as LED-light bulbs, TV Box for myvideo and other equipment.

Many Azerbaijani investments are carried out in Georgia. The country is among the largest foreign direct investors to the neighboring Georgia and according to the statistics, Azerbaijan invested about $220 million in the Georgian economy for the first two quarters of 2015.

Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are working mainly in the energy, tourism, construction, industry and other sectors.

The two neighboring countries, established diplomatic relations in 1992, enjoy not only good political relations, but also long-standing and successful cooperation in the energy sector. Further, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is deeply involved in the energy market in the neighboring South Caucasus republic, created conducive conditions for the opening of thousands of new jobs.
