Azerbaijani-Spanish Business Association launched

The Azerbaijani-Spanish Business Association was launched.
The goal of the Association is the expansion economic and business
cooperation in between the two countries, as well as creation and
development of cultural and sport relations, AzerTag state news
agency reported.
Currently, the Association has 58 Spanish company-members.
The Association will be one of the key organizers of the WAKO
European Championship for juniors and cadets to be held next
August.
Spain recognized Azerbaijan's independence in 1991. Diplomatic relations were established in 1992. Azerbaijan opened its embassy in Spain in 2005.
Trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $140 million in 2013.
Earlier in 2014, Azerbaijan's embassy in Spain initiated the establishment of a joint chamber of commerce with aims to increase the trade turnover between the two countries, to attract Spanish companies to Azerbaijan, take Azerbaijani goods to the Spanish market, to organize mutual business forums, trade and investment missions, and to organize other events to promote bilateral cooperation.
