Azerbaijani, Swiss central banks discuss further cooperation
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) and Swiss National Bank discussed capacities of conducting joint research and expanding cooperation in future.
The CBA noted that these issues were discussed during a meeting of CBA Chairman Elman Rustamov and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan.
The Swiss official visited Azerbaijan to attend Election
Commission of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF),
held in Baku on July 5-6.
The discussions held within the frame of the Election Commission
have an important significance, Jordan said. Furthermore, he noted
the development of cooperation of Switzerland and other countries
represented in this group.
In turn, the CBA chairman stressed that Swiss National Bank is
one of the main partners of Azerbaijan's Central Bank in adopting
an appropriate policy, as well as institutional reforms.
The report further noted that Jordan highly appreciated the
technical assistance provided by the CBA to the central banks of
several countries.
Along with this, the head of the Swiss National Bank held a number
of meetings in the CBA, and also visited the Centre for Research
and Development of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
