Norwegian delegation visits Azerbaijani ministry of energy

Norway and Azerbaijan considered cooperation in the energy sector as a delegation led by Norwegian Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Energy Kare Fostervold has visited the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.

At the meeting, Minister Natig Aliyev informed the Norwegian delegation about the beneficial usage of the oil revenues and future energy projects of Azerbaijan, AzerTag state news agency reported.

He said the Azerbaijani government has implemented investments in export infrastructure as the country aims to diversify supply routes.

In his turn, Kare Fostervold said that Norway is interested in deepening of energy cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The sides hailed the development of bilateral ties between the two countries in different fields.

They also underlined good opportunities for further expansion of mutual cooperation, noting successful activity of the Norwegian Statoil Company in Azerbaijan over last 21 years.

The meeting featured discussions on the two countries` energy policy, cooperation opportunities, as well as Statoil`s activity in Azerbaijan.
