Cooperation of Eastern Partnership countries mulled in Georgia

A regional conference titled "The way to strengthening Eastern Partnership territorial cooperation: Azerbaijan-Georgia territorial cooperation program" was held in Tbilisi.

The conference was attended by employees of the Azerbaijani and Georgian government agencies, non-governmental organizations and journalists,AzerTag state news agency reported.

Attending the event, head of the program Alexey Sakharov, Georgian Deputy Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Mariam Rakviashvili and representative of the European Union delegation to Georgia Philippe Bernhard stressed the importance of implementation of joint projects in a variety of fields between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

They also underlined the positive impact of this conference for development of border cooperation between the two countries.

Azerbaijani Economy and Industry Ministry's official Ruslan Rustamli spoke of the significant role of regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Representative of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov underscored the importance of civil society involvement in implementation of transboundary cooperation.
