Azerbaijan, Israel mull agrarian co-op
A prospect for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel in the field of agriculture was a key topic at a meeting of Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov and Israeli Ambassador Rafael Harpaz.
Asadov stressed the necessity for developing the Azerbaijan-Israel relations in the agrarian sector, and invited Israeli businessmen to Azerbaijan.
The minister also put forward some proposals to speed up the signing of an agreement on agriculture between Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry and Israeli Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry, as well as to promote experience exchange, conduct meetings with businessmen and apply Israeli experience in creation of agricultural cooperatives.
The Israeli diplomat said he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the agrarian sector.
He underlined the need for organizing bilateral business meetings.
Harpaz noted that groundwork for the Azerbaijani-Israeli relations was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
The diplomat praised the atmosphere of tolerance in Azerbaijan.
