Azerbaijan sees rise in agricultural products prices

The production prices for agricultural products fell by one percent in Azerbaijan in June, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said on Thursday reported.

The annual plants' prices fell by 3.5 percent, and perennial plants prices rose by 0.4 percent in June.

The prices fell for wheat by 1.2 percent, barley - by 6.4 per cent, potatoes - by 0.2 percent, green beans - by 4.2 percent, tomatoes - by 1.2 per cent, cucumbers - by 62.3 percent, onions - by 0.4 percent, garlic - by 6.7 percent, hay - by 0.1 percent, and clover - by 4.7 percent.

The prices of such perennial plants as cherry-plum decreased by 4.2 percent, strawberry - by 6.9 percent, also hazelnuts - by 11.7 percent.

The prices of apple rose by 3.5 percent, also the prices of lemons and walnuts increased by 5.4 and 0.3 percent correspondingly.

The animal products' prices in total rose in comparison with last month by 0.8 percent, as well as the prices of sheep and goats - by 0.6 percent, cows - by 1.3 percent, buffaloes - by 0.3 percent, milk- by 0.7 percent, eggs - by 0.5 percent, poultry (live weight) - by 10.3 percent.

Price increase is also observed for beef and mutton (live weight) - by 2 per cent and 0.6 per cent correspondingly.
