New system of compulsory health insurance under development

The new system of compulsory health insurance being developed in Azerbaijan will be funded from three sources, the state budget contributions from employers and employees alike, head of the State Insurance Supervision Service under the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Namig Khalilov said in an interview to a journal published by the Romanian PR-company Media XPRIMM.
The special issue of the journal was dedicated to the fourth international insurance forum held in Baku on June 20-21.
According to Khalilov, the project aims to ensure that every citizen of the country has access to a minimum package of health services.
"In Azerbaijan, the issue of compulsory health insurance is on the agenda. We are working hard to find the best solution for the application of the new system," Khalilov said.
