Azeri car imports up 43%
Azerbaijan imported 45,760 cars in January-July 2012, or 43.4 percent more than in the same period of 2011, the statistics body reported.
The total value of passenger cars imported in the seven-month period exceeded $443.1 million, 38.5 percent over January-July 2011, the State Statistics Committee told Trend news agency.
Azerbaijan's imports of trucks in the reporting period nearly doubled -- increasing 93.7 percent to 5,595. The total value of imported trucks exceeded $134.5 million -- a staggering increase of 142.5 percent.
The country also imported 635 buses, which is 111 percent more than in Jan.-July 2011.
