South Korean companies interested in coop with Azeri businesses
Baku is hosting an Azerbaijan-South Korea business forum on Friday. Over 50 companies, including more than 40 from Azerbaijan, are in attendance at the event, which was organized by AZPROMO, the Azerbaijani export and investment promotion agency.
The participating companies manufacture glass products, heating systems, optical lenses, plastic doors, construction materials, as well as operate in the food industry, tourism and other sectors.
The Korean representatives attending the business forum pointed out Azerbaijan's high rates of economic growth, which draw the attention of South Korean companies.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, Azerbaijan-South Korea trade turnover totaled $620.92 million in 2011, of which $176.7 million is made up by the imports of South Korean goods.
