Azeri govt says foreign importers and exporters must register online
Azerbaijan's customs body has said foreign businesses engaged in import and export transactions must register on its website. The businesses are to undergo registration at the Web page, www.dgk.gov.az, by September 1, the State Customs Committee (SCC) said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The Azerbaijani customs authorities continue to provide electronic services. Thus, the SCC receives 97 percent of customs payments online, chairman of the committee, Aydin Aliyev, said earlier.
Aliyev said receipt of customs payments through banks or plastic cards has been arranged, POS-terminals have been established or branches of banks opened in all customs offices.
According to Aliyev, a single automated control system has been introduced in the work of the customs committee.
"This system is one of the important steps to liberalize trade in the country, providing favorable conditions for entrepreneurs," the SCC chairman added.
