New president of Azercell appointed
A new president of Azerbaijan`s leading mobile operator, Azercell, has been appointed. Chiril Gaburici replaces Ali Agan, who has headed the company since 2008.
Prior to the new appointment, Gaburici served as General Director of Moldovan cellular operator Moldcell, also part of the TeliaSonera group of companies.
Agan will hold a position at the Uzbek cellular operator Ucell.
Azercell Telecom was established in 1996. The company has more than 4 million customers in the country of over 9 million people. It has 80 percent coverage of Azerbaijan`s territory (excluding the Armenia-occupied territories) and a 55 percent market share.
