WB funds to improve plight of IDPs
The Azerbaijani government and the World Bank on Thursday signed a
$15 million agreement in an effort to improve living standards of
displaced persons.
The project is valued at a total of $24.19 million, with the remaining portion to be allocated by the government.
The three-year project aims to address social problems in the regions densely populated by IDPs, repair public buildings and dormitories, improve supplies of drinking water and electric power, and upgrade roads. The document was co-signed by the head of the WB office in Baku Gregori Yedzherchak and Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov.
