Azerbaijan`s leading cellular provider, Azercell, has presented another know-how to its customers. The company completed all the necessary procedures for launching the long-expected high speed mobile internet services based on 4G technology. Very soon, mobile internet with 4G speed will be available for commercial use by Azercell subscribers.

4G, known as the fourth generation mobile communication technology, provides access to the network with high speed Internet up to 100 Mbps and moreover, enables top speed of data transfer. At the initial stage Azercell`s 4G network will cover the downtown area and the seaside park of the capital Baku. The network will operate on 1,800 MHz frequency and the speed of data transfer will be up to 100 Mb per second.

4G modems will be on sale from June 18. In order to join this service, Azercell users will be able to purchase such modems and subscribe to the UNLIMITED internet package by visiting one of the dealer networks or Azercell Express offices in Baku.

A user may subscribe to the UNLIMITED package only for the 4G network, but this package will also be used in Azercell`s 2G and 3G networks. However, 2G/3G internet packages cannot be used for the 4G network. If the subscriber is using 2G/3G data packages, he or she cannot subscribe to the unlimited 4G data package. The 4G network will not support voice messaging, SMS and MMS.

Besides some Nordic and Baltic countries, the 4G technology has not been widely introduced so far. To date, it has not been fully launched even in the developed countries of Europe, including Turkey, France, Italy and Spain. Always prioritizing the convenience of its subscribers, Azercell Telecom continues to bring cutting-edge technological innovations to them.
