Mobile operator announces investment plans
Azerbaijani cellular operator Bakcell`s investments in Azerbaijani network development will amount to 70 million manats ($89.1 million) by late 2012, the company`s technical director, Yigit Berktas, told media.
``About 5 million manats have been spent on the technical equipment installed at Baku Crystal Hall [which will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2012], JW Marriott Absheron Baku Hotel, Flame Towers and Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel and other facilities,`` Berktas said.
He said that 2 million manats were spent on the equipment of Baku Crystal Hall alone.
``At present, more than 30,000 subscribers can use services rendered by Bakcell in Baku Crystal Hall,`` he added.
The total number of Bakcell customers in the country of 9 million people is 2.6 million, of which 1.7 million are active users.
