8 hydro-power plants to be launched in `12
Azerbaijani state-owned energy producer Azerenergy will commission eight hydro-power plants in Azerbaijan in the second half of 2012, according to a government report on the results of 2011 presented to parliament.
15 million manats ($19.1 million) have been allocated to tap alternative sources of energy as part of the public investment program. The funds have been spent to build eight small hydropower plants with the total capacity of 11.7 megawatts.
