Major pastry factory to be built in Azerbaijan
BAKU – A major factory producing over 40 types of bread and pastry will be built in Azerbaijan.
The Healthy Food factory, worth 25 million manats (over $31 million), will be built in Sumgayit, the country’s third largest city. The groundbreaking of the facility is due in early August.
Bread to be baked there will cost 30 Gapiks (38 cents) to 2 manats ($2.50), depending on its type.
Construction operations will be carried out on account of the Economic Development Ministry’s National Fund for Assistance to Entrepreneurship, loans allocated by Pashabank and Commerzbank and funds provided by local Delta Group. Construction work will be carried out by Turkey’s Meytek firm. Technologies of Germany’s Werner Pfleiderer company will be used in production.
Pastry produced at the factory will be put on sale in May 2012.
Delta Group founder Aydin Mehdiyev said the production process will fully comply with international quality standards. Bread and pastry will be produced in line with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) hygiene standards, he added.
