Belarusian PM to seek Azeri loan - reports
MINSK – Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich is due to visit Azerbaijan to negotiate the allocation of a loan to his country, Belarusian media reported.
Belarus reportedly aims to settle its financial dispute with Russia by borrowing funds from Azerbaijan. Russia's electricity export monopoly Inter RAO has warned it would cut off power supply to the country from Wednesday due to outstanding debt.
According to the Belarusian embassy in Baku, Myasnikovich will arrive in Azerbaijan on July 7. In his meetings with Azerbaijani leaders he will discuss prospects for expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
