UAE seeks investments in Azeri agriculture
BAKU – UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri has said his country was seeking investments in Azerbaijan’s agriculture sector.
"Importing Azerbaijan’s agricultural goods is more beneficial for the UAE than imports from other countries," he told a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Baku on Tuesday.
The minister also called on Azerbaijani businessmen to invest in the UAE’s economy, adding that his country’s laws are being amended to promote foreign investment.
Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev told the meeting that Azerbaijan-UAE trade turnover increased 36.8 percent in 2010.
Mustafayev noted that bilateral trade in the first quarter of 2011 grew 10 percent in comparison with the same period of last year.
